This game was game was hard. I was just clicking anything. After a few questions, I finally got the hang of it. The question is what is equal to 0.75. The requests were 3, 2, 8 and 4. The answer was 3. I got the answer because 0.25 gallons is equal to 1. 3 times 25 is 75. 1 times 3 is three.

Fireworks

Walt: 1. write a narrative.
2.  use the words to paint the picture.
3. use senses.

Fireworks
It was the day of beautiful lights up in the sky. It was Guy Fawkes. My little siblings were excited. I wasn’t really excited because I was just worried about my ears.  Farringdon and Paddington Streets were noted to make the loudest noise.

My mum and dad came with a big bag of fireworks yesterday. It was the size of a potato bag. We left the bag outside, on the picnic table. Our neighbour was smoking. She tapped the cigarette and threw it on the ground. As she did that, the ashes from her cigarette floated buy and  landed on the bag. The bag was burning. Ten seconds later it exploded into a million pieces. My dad and I ran outside and saw the table. It was on fire.

My dad said,“Oh no!”

“ What are we going to do?”I asked.

My dad stayed quiet. My mum popped outside and scratched her head.

My mum said,“ Oh wow that was a waste of money.”

My dad and I went to places where fireworks were sold, but they were all sold out. It was 5:30 and the people on my street already started bursting the fireworks. It was loud. My ears were ringing. Nearly all the houses were lighting fireworks. We came home with no fireworks.

This car came to our house. I recognised that car. It was my cousin. They came with fireworks.

I asked my cousin, “What are you doing here?”
“ We came to celebrate Guy Fawkes with you.” My cousin replied.

It was 8:30 and we lit the fireworks and we saw the beautiful lights. The sound of the fireworks was loud as a bomb. Bang, bang, bang went the fireworks.

The theme is to never smoke because it will lead  to death.

Halloween

Halloween is the scariest event in the year
It makes me fill up with fear
Every kid with a mask
I can’t take this task
We go to a house and knock on the door
We say trick or treat but they just roar
I have a basket full of treats
So I keep on knocking on doors in the streets.

Reflection, Rotation, Translation

This game was testing us for reflection, rotation and translation. This game hard and easy for me. This game helps me know what is translation, rotation and reflection. The question was which image shows a translation? The answer is B. I know that because It is two down and two left.

Badminton Poem

Walt: write a poem with rhyme.

Badminton

Hit the shuttle
Hit it high
Hit it over the net and say bye, bye
Slide to the left
Slide to the right
I’m playing with my mate
And its a fight
I get my racket
and I hit the shuttle
Over it goes and I win
What do I get
What do I get
Oh I get a pin.

Walt: write a narrative.

I was sure I heard the sound of my mum yelling to me to wake up to go to school. I didn't listen. After a few minutes my mum came in my room and woke me up. I stood up and went to the bathroom and took a shower. When I came out I was feeling refreshed. I went in my room and got ready for school. I consulted my watch and said “ I'm late!”. I rushed all the way to school.

Ding, ding, ding went the bell. I went in class and sat at my desk. I looked back and saw new books. I skimmed through all the books and I saw a book the I was interested in. It was called
“weird Wednesday”. I started reading the book. It was about a boy who had weird day. He had green hair, a black T-shirt, grey shorts, two different pairs of socks and wore sandals.

After that I went home. I was thinking that school was short today. I came to school and read the book and when I finished reading school was over. “That was weird” I said to myself. By the time I got home I went to sleep. The next day I woke up. I looked outside and it was sunny. “But on the news the weather man said that it was going to rain today”. But there wasn't a single cloud outside. I looked back and felt a drop on my head. Then water started dripping from the ceiling. The water went on my hair and onto my clothes. My hair started turning green, my T-shirt change its colour into black and my short turned grey. I was in bare feet. Then I looked down and had different socks on. I went to get my shoes and my shoes were all gone so I wore my sandals. “What's going on?” I shouted. I ran downstairs and told mum what happened

I went to school with my weird clothes on. I went in the class and it rained outside. My teacher turned on the lights and a bright beam went on my face. It was bright like the sun. After 6 minutes school was over. Instead of 6 hours it was 6 minutes. I went home and it was night time. I realized that everything was coming true from the book I read. I woke up on my bed.

“It was all a dream” I said. I was sure I heard the sound of my mum yelling to me to get ready for school. “ Here we go again ” I said.

The Bush Fire

Walt: write a narrative.

The Bush Fire

I just came from New Zealand to Australia. I went to my hotel. My room was on floor 7. The number of my room was 121. I opened the door and looked inside. I liked my room. I had a good view of the Sydney Opera House, I had a king sized bed all to myself, and a got a TV  too.

I looked outside and looked the bridge and the Opera House. After that I saw a little boy playing with matches so I popped up outside and rushed to the boy. The boy was looking at the fire and he blew it and made another one. By the time I got to him I snatched the matches off of him and said “Playing with fire is dangerous,”. Then he started crying and ran to his parents. I blew the fire on the stick and threw it on the ground and walked away. The fire sparked in the ground and started a bushfire. I didn't even notice the fire until my shoe was on fire. I looked back and I zoomed all the way to the phone and called the fire station. I went outside with a bucket of water. But when I arrived the fire was touching the edge of the hotel that I was living in. By the time the fire-fighters got here the hotel was on fire. I said to the fire-fighters “ you are late”. I heard weeping in the hotel. There was a mother and a father who came crying to get there son from the burning house.

The fire-fighters were too scared to get the little boy. But  I came out of nowhere and said “I will do it”. I ran straight through the door and climbed the stairs. After five minutes I on the 4th floor. I heard the little boy in a closet. I got the little boy and popped out in 6 minutes.

I saved the little boy and the fire-fighters got hose and climbed the ladder. They foamed the building and the fire was out. The fire-fighters gave me a medal. Then I said “ Oh man I forgot why I came to Australia.”

The Theme is to never play with matches or lighters.

Criminals at Sports Camp

Walt: write a narrative

Sports Camp

On a Monday we came to school for the week of our lives. It was the day that I've been waiting for. It was finally sports camp. We were going on a bus to travel all the way to Matamata. We loaded the bus and hopped in. My took pictures. As we started to go down Eastview road, we waved goodbye to our mums and dads.

Its been two hours and a half and we are finally here. Mr Hendricks send us to our cabins. But there were 12 beds and the were 17 boys. So Mr Hendricks brought Trey, Tre, Charlie, Jalal and me to go to a motel. When we got there we unpacked our stuff and chose a bed. Charlie and Jalal Was bunk beds and Trey and Tre was on there own bed. Unlucky for me I slept on the ground. Mr Hendricks came to collect us for cross country. We watched the cross country team and they tried there best. After that Alisi and Kaho went to golf, Chase and Taina went kayaking, Trey and Auytum went shooting and Talia and I went to archery.

After that we went back to our cabins and we were shocked. Our door was open. We looked inside to see if anything was stolen. In fact stuff were stolen. food have been stolen. We told Mr Hendricks and he told Andrew. He gave us a key so when we go out we lock it.

After the two days we were still looking for the criminals. Then I had an idea. It was cameras. We went to tell Andrew my idea. So we all rushed to our cabins and put it up. We waited for 3 hours and we went inside and looked at the videos from the camera. After an hour and a half I nearly gave up but then I saw something. It was a little rat. It ran across the room and it went in my bag. it dragged my bar and went in a hole behind the cardboard. After that we looked in the cardboard and we saw a hole. Then we called the removers. They remove bugs and rats. After one hour they came and they caught all the rats. There were 25 rats. I looked in my bag and there was a hole in it. The last day of sports camp and the week was fast. We loaded the bus and went home.

Camp was exciting and I had nothing else to instead of sports camp to my parents after I came back. I want to go back.

My theme is to never steal because if you steal, you will end up at a bad place.

Milk in schools

Walt: share our thoughts on milk in schools

Milk In Schools

I think children should have milk because it has vitamin a and d. It makes your bones strong and tough. It will help the children think properly. I think the government should be responsible because they pay for school things like netbooks and the wireless. I think schools should have milk 3 times a week.

Probably a favourite

In this game you have to see how many dark chocolate you want. There is 5 dark chocolate and the rest is 3.The question is what is the probability of choosing a dark chocolate candy? The will be 5/8.

The Reading Room

Walt: Discuss the problem and the solution in sequins.

The Reading Room

The first problem was that Kathy was angry at Lisa because Lisa is in it. Lisa wasn't using it. She was reading in there.

Kathy was getting annoyed of Lisa. She was hammering on the door to get in the bathroom. She was going to have a shower to go the movies. While that was happening Lisa was was reading her book about a boy who was lost in a snowstorm. She will get out when Lisa finishes.

After Lisa finished her story she came out and said all yours Kathy.

The second problem was Lisa not getting out of the toilet. But Lisa was keen on finishing her book. She went in the bathroom because she needs a quiet place to read.

Kathy was waiting for Lisa to get out of the toilet. Kathy told mum to get Lisa out of the bathroom so she could use it to go to the movies.

After Lisa was finished Kathy forgets her shower and the movies and goes to the library.

Cross Country Rap

Jog, jog, jog
Run, run, run
Running so fast like the bullet of a gun
Starting to sweat
Still running as fast as a jet
I'm slowing down
But don’t stop yet I'm going to be crowned

Huffing and puffing
Get ready to start sprinting
Going to the finish line
When I run
I'm never behind
This is my game
I got cross country to tame

Another lap please
Ouch my knees
I think I'm going to die
Oh no my tongue is dry
I need water
But if I had water
I will use it as a booster

I am nearly there
Huff, puff
This is a nightmare
Yes I made it
I can’t spit
Another lap please
Nooo!

Sadness has Erupted

Walt: write a report/narrative.

Sadness has Erupted

At 28 August a Sumatran Tiger has died in the Wellington zoo. It was devastating news. The tigers name was Cantik. Cantik means beautiful. Cantik came from Burger zoo in the Netherlands. Cantik died from severe arthritis. The tiger was 21 when she died. Cantic had 20 cubs. The cubs were delivered to Australasia. Australasia means New Zealand and Australia combined. Cantik spend a full life at the zoo. But with other tigers, they spend 10 years in the wild.

The Sumatran tigers are the only kind of tigers on earth. They are endangered. There are a few 100 left in the wild. Tigers false
90% of hunting their prey. The cubs stay with the mother and the father goes out to hunt. The cubs never have contact to their father. Every tigers stripes are different.

Peter Jackson

Peter Jackson

My inspirational person is Peter Jackson because he left school when he was 16 to be a full-time worker for the photo-engraver for the local newspaper. He worked there for 7 years. He shared the Academy Award for the best original screenplay with his partner Fran Walsh for the movie Heavenly creatures. When Peter was small he was a movie fan. Jacksons mum bought Peter a super 8 cine-camera. After that he has made short movies with his friends. He was interviewed by the Avatar and the Titanic director James Cameron. He challenged himself and he stays focus on making movies.

Peter Jackson was inspired by the movie King Kong when he was twelve. He has been making short movies ever scents. Jackson has made more than 10 movies. Jackson has made action movies, adventure movies, horror movies and funny movies.

I have watch movies that you directed and I love it. I wish I could learn some tips of making short films. I was inspired by Peter Jackson because he had made lots of movies and he has made short movies more than me. I was also inspired from him because he has made movies when he was my age and that will really help me improve making movies.

Pizza game

In my group our Walt was to solve division problems that have fractional answers. In this you have to see how many tips you have. On the three pictures the first pictures it says that I have made $9.52, on the the second picture I have made $24.04 and in the last picture I made $30.68. In total I made $64.24. I found this game hard because I keep on giving the wrong pizza to the wrong person. I like this game because it is challenging me to more money.

Bad skin day

Walt: write a story with a theme.

Bad skin day

Once upon a time on a beautiful sunshiny day Jack went with his family to the beach to have a swim and a picnic. They were looking for a space to have the picnic. They didn't find a picnic spot any where. “Why can’t we spread the tablecloth on the sand”, said Jack.

As soon as the family finished their picnic they went of to have a swim in the clear blue sea. “ Put the sunscreen on guys”, said mum. “I don’t need sunscreen for my skin because I'm a big boy”, said Jack. “ But I'm bigger than you and I'm using sunscreen”, said mum. “ OK” said Jack. “ I’ll get my own sunscreen from the car”, said Jack. But when Jack went and got the sunscreen, he grabbed the fly spray instead. He sprayed all over his body and he made a ugly face. “ This smells like hmm, what is it again, who cares I just want to go for a swim”, said Jack. He tossed the the fly spray in the car and zoomed to the water. But on the can, on the cushion sign and it said that the spray is not allowed in water.

Jack dived in the water and he was playing in it. But after few minutes the family had to go home. The family was calling out to Jack. Jack came out and he looked horrifying. All of the people from the beach screamed and they were panicking. The family wasn't scared. They took Jack to the doctor. The doctor said that he had fly spray id-us. “ To turn him back you have to spray him with sunscreen”, said the doctor. after three days Jack was back.

The theme is to take care of your skin.

Basketball

Dribble dribble dribble
Stop!
Look at the time
Bouncing the ball is not a crime
Three pointer, slam dunk
That's it
Our opponent has sunk
Block it protect it
keep it up
They're starting to quit
The opponent get the ball and it is bouncing
Hurry up guy lets start pouncing

The crowd goes wild
The coach smiled
The whistle goes its a foul
Keep your eye on the ball like an owl
Were on fire
Were going to win
But were not a lire

We won
Some dad said
That it my son
We have the price
If you try and beat us

Watch out we are wise.

Prevention is better than Cure

Walt: respond to the presentation given by the public health dept.

Prevention is better than Cure

On 6 August, the whole school of Glen Innes school went to the hall to talk about Rheumatic fever. It was a special assembly. Dr Alison Leversha from Star ship Hospital came to us. It took 25 minutes. Three Warriors players and an X Warrior player came to us to interest us to take care of you throat. The three Vodafone Warriors showed us when a doctor comes in a class and say who has a sore throat you will get a swab by a nurse. I thought the Vodafone Warriors was going to talk about Rheumatic fever, but they didn’t.

Awen Guttenbeil talked to us when he had Rheumatic fever. He played for the Kiwi league team and the Tongan league team. He told us that Rheumatic fever could lead us to death. He never told his mum or dad that he had a sore throat. He told us that on the day the athletics he couldn’t get out of bed. He had saw joints. He dragged himself through the hallway to tell his mum or dad that he has a terrible problem. Awen’s mum and dad took Awen straight to the hospital.  After 2 months the doctor told the mum and dad that Awen has Rheumatic fever. Rheumatic fever starts from a sore throat.

In conclusion I think that I should take care of my throat. Sore throats leads to Rheumatic fever and that could lead to death.
